Misty Copeland is the first Afterican American "principal" ballerina in the NY dance company (which means she is the best in the whole country). She didn't start dancing until she was a teenager. Most ballerinas start when they are really little (like 4 years old) and worked harder than everyone else to catch up. She has a strong, muscular body which is different than most ballerinas, but she proved that being strong is good and is changing the way people think of ballerinas. Here is a little video about her.
